Welcome to the Cornwall Bus Preservation Society (CBPS) website. The CBPS has been formed by a group of bus and coach enthusiasts who are involved in maintaining, restoring and preserving a number of buses which saw operational service in Cornwall or representatives thereof that have been bought, donated or even loaned to members of the group. The vehicles range from the 1950's through to the 2000's.
We are having working days every fortnight where vehicle maintenance/repairs take place which gives our members the opportunity to learn new skills from other members around bus preservation. This is proving very popular with our members (which I am sure the pasty lunch helps!). To get the vehicles out and about, we attend local rallies, go out on members only jollies, other bus events throughout the country including the Isle of Wight Wrightrider, Rame Beer and Buses and also host our Penzance VR Revival & Vintage Bus Running Day (in association with Thames Valley and Great Western Omnibus Trust). Our Penzance Running Day is on the 3rd Sunday of April each year to commemorate the withdrawal of the Bristol VR’s from active service in Cornwall in 2006 with the first running day taking place in 2007. As well as VR’s we have a host of interesting vehicles attend from small buses that served Mousehole to the larger Open top double decker’s and coaches.
Why not become a member and join us where you will get exclusive access to our Members page on Facebook, be included on the 'run outs' with the buses, able to attend our social evenings, working days and more. A donation of just £36/ year secures your membership. Use the membership request form above to get in contact with us or contact one of our committee.
