PTT 98R | Bristol VR | Fleet No. 1098

Originally new to Western National se was allocated to Devon General in 1983. However, by 1987 she had become surplus to requirements, passed briefly to a dealer and was then bought by Southern Vectis. She was briefly loaned to Southern Blue Line, but in 1992 she was bought by this company. Transferred to Johnson Bros in 1997 in Nottinghamshire and was regularly used as a school bus. It was withdrawn from service in2011 and was stored in a secure location until vandalism with five others, which included windows damaged and vital wiring removed. Was bought by P.J.Dalley (current owner) in 2015 as he had driven 1096 (now scrapped) and 1098 is the only sole survivor of the PTT group of buses.

Since then, Peter has exhibited 1098 at at many events in Cornwall including the Vintage Bus Running Day at Penzance and the Carnhell Green Vintage Rally held in July.

Currently undergoing a repaint into Western National green and then hopefully it will be back on the rally scene in the County soon.
