CBPS/WNPG news update for November and December 2019

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

We have now moved into the last month of 2019 and I have to say, what a very busy and interesting year it has been. So many events attended by vehicles under the 'CBPSCornwall Bus Preservation Society - formed by a group of bus and coach enthusiasts who are involved in maintaining, restoring and preserving a number of buses which saw operational service in Cornwall that have been bought, donated or even loaned to members of the group Umbrella' (21 vehicles to date) this year that it seems like every other week, one or more of the vehicles have been out running.

We are very proud in the CBPS that 'our vehicles' are not just exhibits at events attended, but where possible, enthusiasts and members of the public are able to ride on them and experience travel from times gone by. This year has been exceptional with an increase in passenger numbers wherever we have been. Thanks to all and for treating the vehicles with some respect.

During these winter months, work will continue on the vehicles which may involve servicing, engineering repairs, body repairs, painting etc. in preparation for 2020.

We still require more accessable covered storage for our extensive fleet, so any suitable establishments in west or central Cornwall, please let us know about it.

Although 'friends' membership runs from January to December, we don't mind when anyone joins up. For £3 a month (£36 a year) you can be part of CBPS.

If you would like to become a 'friend' of the CBPS, please contact us (details on the site). We look forward to hearing from you. We have had ten new members join us this year so a big welcome to all of them.

So that leads me on to some changes we will be making regarding this web site from January 2020. There will no longer be a monthly update here as it would appear that most enthusiasts follow us on social media, mainly on our Facebook sites. It is there that we regularly update and post anything of interest regarding the CBPS.

Improvements to this site will follow in due course, so keep checking on here.

In the mean time, may I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
