Well here we are almost halfway through another year. Following on from our running day and the Trevithick Day P&R in April, May was a quieter month with 1254Former Western National Bristol LHS 1254 (VOD 124K), one of six purchased for Mousehole - Penzance route; acquired privately by Steve and Paul towards the end of 2017 (VOD 124KFormer Western National Bristol LHS 1254 (VOD 124K), one of six purchased for Mousehole - Penzance route; acquired privately by Steve and Paul towards the end of 2017) coming out on 1st June to transport our friends and guests around on their wedding day taking the LHS back to Mousehole yet again. This was a good day with many locals delighted to see the bus running through Newlyn to and from Mousehole.

A note for your diaries is for the Cornwall Coastal Commercial Run on Sunday 24th June 2018 where we will be entering the Bristol LHSBristol LH chassis range introduced in spring 1968, 3 variants: LHS at 26' (7.9m); 1254 (VOD 124K) and Bristol LH 1318Royal Blue; BDV 318L | Bristol LH | Fleet No. 1318 | CBPG (BDV 318LRoyal Blue; BDV 318L | Bristol LH | Fleet No. 1318 | CBPG) for the days outing. Peter Dalley is hoping to take his Volvo Olympian (K803 ORL) along too.

We gather at the fairground field around 09.30 hrs to prepare for the leisurely ramble down the Ladock valley to Truro and on to Falmouth. We take the road towards the Docks and then the road around Pendennis Point (any double deck vehicles will leave this section out and go to Castle Beach road). At Gyllngvase Beach we park for about half an hour for atea/coffee/ice cream stop. Following this, we slowly go via the main road to Helston where we take the road to Four Lanes before dropping down to the Leisure Centre car park where lunch is taken. After the break, we head to Portreath from Illogan driving through the village and onto Porthtowan. Using the main road at Chiverton Cross, we head to Perranporth, through the town to Goonhavern and on to Newquay. Taking the coast road out, we head towards St Columb before returning to Summercourt for awards for the winning classes.

If any 'friends' would like to join us for part or all of the day, please contact Steve, Lee or myself to arrange possible pick ups or just turn up at Summercourt in the morning.
