CBPS news update for June 2012

Since the May 2012 news update, we have successfully moved our new acquisition, Dennis Dart 401Badgers and Flags Pointer Dart L401 VCV | Dennis Pointer Dart | Fleet No. 401 | CBPG (L401 VCVBadgers and Flags Pointer Dart L401 VCV | Dennis Pointer Dart | Fleet No. 401 | CBPG), to Cornwall following problems we encountered with fuel pick-up. This caused some head scratching as it was thought to be of a more serious nature initially however all seems fine now. This Dart was purchased by Western National Limited in 1994 when they were part of the Badgerline Group and is now in the original livery known as 'badgers & flags'. Although most of her working life was in Plymouth, she worked in Cornwall towards the end of her service life and was based at Penzance for a time. It was the last Leyland bus model in production are on the road but the rest of the fleet is in storage.

We are still hoping to attract more of you to become 'friends' of the CBPSCornwall Bus Preservation Society - formed by a group of bus and coach enthusiasts who are involved in maintaining, restoring and preserving a number of buses which saw operational service in Cornwall that have been bought, donated or even loaned to members of the group this year and we are still looking for more dry and secure storage for the fleet so please get in touch asap if you are interested or have any news. The quarterly News LetterWe publish a regular News Letter for ‘friends’ (members of the group) giving updates on the vehicles, restoration and other work done, fund raising, new ‘friends’ and trips undertaken since the last information sheet. Also included will be details of forthcoming events, rallies, working days and meetings. has had to go on hold but I will endeavour to address this in the near future!
