    Working Party in January will be held on the 26th.

    1226November 2009, CBPG took over ownership of Bristol VR 38873(LFJ 873W) from Western National Preservation Group. Originally numbered 1226, she was the last new Bristol VR bought by Western National in 1981 LFJ 873W | Bristol VR | Fleet No. 38873 (ex 1226) is back in Cornwall so the focus of the day will be the preperation of her for MOTMinistry of Transport test. Jobs will include a deep clean inside and out, MOT inspection (and repairs where possible) and repairs to known faults in the exhaust system to 1226.

    Time allowing we will need to repair to the coolant system that has sprung a leak on 1147Bristol VR AFJ 749T 1147, sort out parts on currently stored on the vehicle and another look at the engine troubles it's having if we have time.

    Our Annual Penzance Running DayEach year in April CBPG holds an Annual Running Day with free bus trips around West Cornwall - check our Events for more information in association with Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trustregistered charity which established in 2008 “to advance education of public in history of public road passenger transport and in particular history of those companies and types of vehicles operated through Thames Valley and Great Western road transport corridors”; TV&GWOT's defined operating area consists of ten local authority areas between West London and Cornwall, hence strap-line “Fro’ Paddington to Penzance” reflecting the extent of the Great Western Railway Road Motors operations over the period 1903 to 1929 and successor companies from then until the present day. http://www.tvagwot.org.uk/about.htm.

Originally numbered 1226, she was the last new Bristol VR bought by Western National in 1981 LFJ 873W | Bristol VR | Fleet No. 38873 (ex 1226) and 52529529 became 52529 in national numbering system, fitted with 27 seats and soon received her current livery; S529 RWP | Mercedes Vario | Fleet No. 52529 | CBPG.

    This of course is subject to availibility as a few are due for MOTMinistry of Transport test close the the running day along with others due work to be completed on them before they are back on the road.

     

    If you can offer some help with vehicle preperations, please let us know. We are planning on having Working Party days on 26th January, 23rd February, 23rd March and of course the day before the running day - 20th April. Where possible we will also plan in some extra dates as currently the workload out strips the work needed to be completed!

  • Sat, 27/07/2019 (All day) St Buryan Vintage Rally

    We plan to attend St Buryan Rally with static entries and a shuttle bus to the village.

     

    Date to be confirmed by the Rally committee yet, but the estimated date is now in our diary!

  • Sat, 12/10/2019 (All day) Isle of Wight Beer, Buses and Walks 2019

    We are attending the annual Isle of Wight Beer, Buses and Walks event for 2019.

    1254Former Western National Bristol LHS 1254 (VOD 124K), one of six purchased for Mousehole - Penzance route; acquired privately by Steve and Paul towards the end of 2017 is currently planned to be in attendance again having being very popular at the 2018 event, but we are up to debate on the second vehicle to be going, we may even be currently considering a 3rd.... well at least Steve is!

    From just 4 in 2017 to 16 of us going in 2018..... how many are coming with us in 2019? We make it a long weekend away leaving on the Friday and returning on the Monday. We stay in the premier Inn at Sandown. Booking in advanced is recommended (At the time of publishing Saver rate is just £102.50 for the three nights!).
