Well here we are almost halfway through another year. Following on from our running day and the Trevithick Day P&R in April, May was a quieter month with 1254Former Western National Bristol LHS 1254 (VOD 124K), one of six purchased for Mousehole - Penzance route; acquired privately by Steve and Paul towards the end of 2017 (VOD 124KFormer Western National Bristol LHS 1254 (VOD 124K), one of six purchased for Mousehole - Penzance route; acquired privately by Steve and Paul towards the end of 2017) coming out on 1st June to transport our friends and guests around on their wedding day taking the LHS back to Mousehole yet again. This was a good day with many locals delighted to see the bus running through Newlyn to and from Mousehole. Read more

In this update I am pleased to say that our 11th Penzance VR Revival & Vintage Bus Running DayEach year in April CBPG holds an Annual Running Day with free bus trips around West Cornwall - check our Events for more information 2018 broke all records for the number of passengers carried during the day. Even our four legged friends (accompanied by their owners of course) managed many more trips on the buses than before. Read more

I am pleased to say that things have moved on in preparation for the 11th Penzance VR Revival & Vintage Bus Running DayEach year in April CBPG holds an Annual Running Day with free bus trips around West Cornwall - check our Events for more information on Sunday 15 April 2018.

The first good news involved getting Bristol LHSBristol LH chassis range introduced in spring 1968, 3 variants: LHS at 26' (7.9m); 1254Former Western National Bristol LHS 1254 (VOD 124K), one of six purchased for Mousehole - Penzance route; acquired privately by Steve and Paul towards the end of 2017 (VOD 124KFormer Western National Bristol LHS 1254 (VOD 124K), one of six purchased for Mousehole - Penzance route; acquired privately by Steve and Paul towards the end of 2017) out on the road for the first time in about 6 years which culminated with an MOTMinistry of Transport test pass at the end of the day. Hello everybody. The days are drifting by so it won't be long before our big event 11th Penzance VR Revival & Vintage Bus Running DayEach year in April CBPG holds an Annual Running Day with free bus trips around West Cornwall - check our Events for more information on Sunday 15 April 2018.

Again, we hope to have in excess of 25 vehicles attending to give the enthusiasts, visitors and local people a sample of how bus and coach travel used to be taking in Lands End, St Buryan, St Just, Mousehole, St Ives, Perranuthnoe, Praa Sands, Relubbus, Hayle and Camborne. Read more

After a long break, we are back with the news update for CBPS/WNPGCornwall Bus Preservation Society including Western National Preservation Group - formed by group of bus and coach enthusiasts who are involved in maintaining, restoring and preserving a number of buses which saw operational service in Cornwall that have been bought, donated or even loaned to members of the group so I would like to wish a belated Happy New Year to all followers out there. Here is the update for August 2017. The weekend of Saturday/Sunday 26th & 27th August sees the Plymouth Transport Weekend on the Hoe, Plymouth. The event now back on the Hoe which is an ideal setting for the vehicles has a static Rally day on the Saturday and a Running day on the Sunday with trips around the City and some out onto Dartmoor. Apologies for the lack of news on this page for which there is no real excuse! So, where were we - our Running DayEach year in April CBPG holds an Annual Running Day with free bus trips around West Cornwall - check our Events for more information in April was a great success and I believe passenger numbers are way up on 2016 so a big thank you to all those who took part, all those that helped to marshal the event, be buddies for the visiting drivers and to all the public that were able to make the most of free transport for the day on classic vehicles. Welcome to the news update for March 2017 and as promised, I have a provisional entry list for our running day at Penzance on Easter Sunday, 16 April.

I am pleased to say that we have some vehicles that haven't been to Penzance before and some returning after a long absence from Cornwall. If you like open-topped buses and the weather is good, then we have at the moment five of these. They are:- Bristol VRT's UWV 614S and ATA 559L, Volvo Olympian L637 SEU and Volvo B7 V124 LGC and returning to Penzance where it was based from new is Bristol LDLBristol LDL Lodekka open-topper, longer than Bristol LD VDV 753.
